Nice bench. Simple and functional. the only thing I would do is put some polyurethane or oil on it to help protect it from weather.

I dont use lacquer i use used motor oil. It needs more applications but it penitrates the wood giving it added rot resistance and gives a better look imo

This is so genius! My husband and I made a 4 x 8 table with wire on the top so we can pull our seedlings in and out of the garage. The problem is the wheels. We used tires that do not pivot, sort of like the tires on the back of a Gorilla cart, that are stationary. When trying to make turns, it's impossible! Do you have any suggestions for retro-fitting your wheels to a table like ours? Our table is the typical nursery style table that you see. It's very heavy. It would have worked perfectly, but we have to turn corners with it to get it under the shade of our tree in the back yard. Any advice is appreciated.

Wonder if you can put inflated tires on it (like on those gorilla carts) so one can bring onto lawn...back and forth?

It wont last long. Soak the wood where the head will attach in a glass cup filled with boiled linseed oil for a few days and use metal o rings instead of wooden splice.

You know if you want to be like everyone else you cant shellac it. You must use boiled linseed oil, everyday for a week, than once a week for 3 months, once a month for 3 years. Than after all that the dang handle breaks anyway and you just rinse and repeat. Hmmm.... Maybe I'll just shellac it and try to get some actual work done, lol.

Awesome and similar to how I do it- I’m not claiming to do it better but I find using wood oil instead of glue is far better to mitigate cracks. The suction the oil creates rather than the overpressure from wood glue is better for long term. Either way awesome vid, not a criticism :)

I worked union construction from 1988 til 2013 before I knew these existed. This basic hammer is around $100 but the good ones are $300. Union guys have an Estwing hammer that costs $20. The non-union rats have $300 hammers. I thought we were the ones making all the money before I got stuck at one of these companies. They went union the year I started but some of the guys quit because they couldn't live on $40/hr. I suppose you can't if you are paying a couple hundred dollars for a hammer that looks like it was made in the 1940s.
